Seven Kilometer's Of Sydney's Most Extraordinary Waterfront

From the historic finger wharves of Walsh Bay to the new Sydney Fish Markets
— eight distinct precincts, one connected harbour.

A Global Business Hub On The Water's Edge

Sydney's western waterfront is home to several Asia-Pacific headquarters and is Australia's finance and professional services capital — combining world-class commercial, cultural and hospitality assets along one of the most spectacular urban waterfronts in the world. With $15 billion in renewal already underway and 94.3 million annual visits, it is a precinct of extraordinary scale and significance.

One Waterfront. Eight distinct neighbourhoods.

Each sub-precinct has its own character, its own community and its own identity. The CID connects them — coordinating investment, marketing and management at a scale that benefits the whole precinct.

 Walsh Bay
The historic northern anchor. The heritage finger wharves beneath the Harbour Bridge are home to the Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Dance Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre and a growing collection of restaurants and creative enterprises.
King Street Wharf
A vibrant waterfront hub connecting the CBD to the harbour's edge — home to restaurants, bars and ferry wharves, and a gateway for harbour cruises, ferry services and water taxis.
Darling Harbour
Sydney's most visited entertainment and events precinct — home to the International Convention Centre, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, the Australian National Maritime Museum, Tumbalong Park and a vast dining and entertainment offering.
Pyrmont
A rapidly transforming peninsula home to The Star, Pirrama Park, the ABC headquarters, Darling Island and a thriving business community — connected by the new Pyrmont Metro and continuing to evolve through the Pyrmont Peninsula Place Strategy.
 Barangaroo
One of Australia's most significant urban renewal projects — combining the parkland of Barangaroo Reserve with the commercial intensity of Barangaroo South, including Crown Sydney, major office towers, hotels and restaurants.
Cockle Bay & CBD Waterfront
The Hyatt Regency, Darling Park towers and the restaurants lining the promenade — connecting the city's commercial core directly to the water's edge.
Darling Quarter & Darling Square
A mixed-use precinct incorporating Darling Quarter's offices, retail and public spaces, and the emerging Darling Square community — the southernmost point of the CID boundary.
Sydney Fish Markets & Bank Street
The southern terminus of the CID — incorporating the landmark new Sydney Fish Markets development and the neighbouring Bank Street properties. One of Sydney's most distinctive destinations, transformed for the next generation.
