Our Remarkable Western Harbour

Welcome valued partner to my first CEO Update from the New Sydney Waterfront Company.

I have been back in this great Harbour City for 10 weeks, today in fact, and I must thank every single one of you and your colleagues for welcoming me and our venture so warmly into ‘Team Sydney’!

There is immense energy, passion and determination to see this magnificent part of Sydney across the Western Harbour from the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct to the Sydney Fish Market, repurposed for the future.

By working in partnership, through the ‘Improvement District’ model, I know that with our Chair Geoff Parmenter, alongside a determined Founding Board, and with you as a key partner, we are going to achieve real success here.

Since my arrival, I’ve enjoyed over 100 meetings with business, cultural institutions, community groups and the State and City governments. From these valued discussions, I have a very clear sense of the immediate task ahead and importantly, a crystallising vision for our future, with Connection to Country at our heart.

Please read (and listen) to my CEO Update for our latest news including an entertaining podcast, when I joined New Sydney Waterfront Company Board Director Jason De Sousa from Lendlease in his final Smart Cities podcast for 2023. As we come to the end of another busy year, I wish you and yours an enjoyable festive season and restful summer holiday - one where I hope to see you relishing in one of our 500 hospitality and cultural venues. As Destination New South Wales says, ‘feel the Sydney Side of Summer’!

Looking forward to our partnership continuing in 2023.
